MINCH-CHIEH (Woody), CHANG, is a multidisciplinary artist and design driven by curiosity and passion, he often incorporates contemporary electronic waste and 3D printing with light and shadow experiments as his primary media. In 2022, he completed the foundation program at the Royal College of Art in the UK.

His work spans product design, photography, and speculative design. During his time as an emergency medical technician, he witnessed numerous moments of life and death, which profoundly influenced his creative themes—centred on the philosophy of time, psychology, and cognitive science.

One of his representative works, “Chumair”, is a bench that challenges structural conventions while blending traditional Chinese culture with typographic manipulation, discarded factory pallets, and metal craftsmanship. This piece was shortlisted for the Golden Pin Design Award – Craft Design Category in 2016.

His recent project, “Mirror Clock”, draws inspiration from the hyperbolic geometry of black holes, exploring the interrelation between time, space, and memory. It reinterprets time through projections and reflections, merging ancient perspectives with contemporary interpretations.
